Published: February 8, 2022

The Canopy Senior Living , in conjunction with Jacksonville-based real estate developer Rimrock Companies and the JAX Chamber, ceremonially broke ground today on a 64-unit, innovative assisted living and memory care community – The Canopy at Duval Station. Poised in an ideal location, The Canopy fronts Duval Station Road with quick access to I-95 in Jacksonville’s rapidly growing North market. With the projected opening in the latter part of this year, the amenity-rich, resort-style environment will offer 44 assisted living options and 20 memory care apartments, meeting measurable market demand for additional senior living options in the region.

“With convenient access to surrounding regions and in a quickly developing area in Jacksonville, this market is a place many seniors currently call or want to call home,” said Brad Womble, director of development, The Canopy Senior Living. “The addition of The Canopy at Duval Station – the 8 th Canopy community our company has developed – provides families in this area with a needed option of a higher standard of living and the best in care for their loved ones moving into the next phase of their lives.”

Marlin Construction is leading the construction team to build the 47,000 square-foot building. Plans for the community include a healthy mix of assisted living and memory care units. The community will be rich in amenities, including the SRI Management signature programming:

  • Artful Dining, a research-backed culinary concept designed to keep seniors engaged in the social and health benefits of proper nutrition
  • Zestful Activities, providing an abundance of activities to keep residents physically and socially active;
  • Heartful Care – creating comfort and security for residents in their new home

Once opened, The Canopy at Duval Station will offer local residents approximately 45 full-time jobs, infusing more than $1.2 million in annual salary and wages into Jacksonville.
