SRI Management Discusses Disaster Preparedness

Today, our very own Senior VP of Operations Daniel Almendares participated on a panel hosted by Advance Catastrophe Technologies, Inc. During the hour-long virtual forum, Daniel discussed disaster preparedness for senior housing communities while minimizing operational disruptions.

Many businesses have learned disaster can strike at any moment, and the unprecedented interruptions that may result can be costly. In order to facilitate business continuity and reduce consequential losses, adequately planning and preparing for such situations is critical.

“As the hurricane season is right around the corner, having plans in place for our teams, residents, and their families are of utmost importance,” Daniel said. “Being on this panel helped reinforce that planning is crucial for the preparedness of our communities.”

Senior living communities face certain vulnerabilities and rely on those communities for various levels of care. These organizations must ensure that there is minimal disruption to business, resident, and patient care in the event of a disaster to guarantee the health, safety, and well-being of both residents and team members.

Daniel helped provide further insight into disaster preparedness planning and the importance of business longevity, ensuring operational continuity when faced with a disruptive threat.

“A disruption can happen at any time. So having plans in place to handle a disruption is key for our communities.”
