As of Saturday March 14, 2020, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered all visitation of senior housing halted. At this time, no visitors are allowed into our communities in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Gov. DeSantis directed Director of Emergency Managment Jared Moskowitz to expand his emergency order and prohibit all visitation to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult family-care homes, long-term care facilities and adult group homes for the next 30 days. However, there will be exceptions made for compassionate visitation.
While we are sure there will be further direction and instruction from the State, we are following this latest directive for all SRI managed communities.
To comply and help explain this new update, we are:
- Making personal phone calls to each family explaining this change.
- Posting signs on doors stating no visitors will be allowed until further notice.
- Helping residents understand this State mandated directive as well and asking them to limit personal activities outside the community.
- Continuing to screen our employees and residents daily.
